You have about 3-5 sentences (a bit more if you have the space) to highlight your biggest achievements in sales, explain how you develop new customers, and your sales strategies. Use strong descriptive words to show off your professional personality as well.

This section serves as an introduction to your career, so don’t be afraid to boast a little as long as you don’t exaggerate. In this people-driven career, recruiters will want to get a sense of who you are as well as what skills you would bring to the sales team.

  1. Since this is an overview, it is helpful to have your career details in front of you
  2. Once the rest of your resume is complete, you will know how much room you have for your Profile.

Of course, new home sales consultants should be adept in working one-on-one with people to assist them with all matters of the home-buying process. They should also be powerful sales consultants, able to effectively market new homes and make sales happen. However, there is much more to the job. You have to work with Realtors and other real estate agents as well as homebuyers, so you must remain professional at all times. Try not to neglect any aspect of your sales experience as you develop your Employment History section.

This work experience section tells the story of your career; it is not a mere listing of job responsibilities. It is here that you show growth through your years of experience. If you started out as a sales associate and now are a manager, that’s great! Wherever you are, you have learned along the way. Use each bullet point in this section to illustrate a different skill. Sales targets and business development are numbers-driven, so use those numbers here.

Try using the STAR method in your job descriptions and using powerful action verbs to:

  • Explain the Situation
  • Highlight the Task you had to accomplish
  • Tell the Action you took
  • Highlight the positive Result.

List any sales representative jobs or customer service experience, but also remember that you have learned transferable skills such as time management in other types of jobs. Show off your knowledge of the real estate industry and your ability to market model homes to prospective buyers.
